Silhouette Window Shadings are sleek, stylish, and one of the most popular window treatments offered by Hunter Douglas. S-shaped vanes delicately float between two sheer fabric panels, which allows you to enjoy more privacy even when you tilt the vanes open for more natural light. The ClearView® Shading feature provides maximum view-through for an enjoyable view of the outdoors. Choosing the vane size is another way to personalize your Silhouette® shades. You can go for larger vanes for a modern look or smaller vanes for a more classic appearance. Smaller vanes look especially good in rooms with few windows.

Controlled Light & Privacy

The addition of a second sheer panel minimizes the view into your home to provide the perfect amount of daytime privacy and sunlight. If your Silhouette® shades are in a room where you prefer increased privacy at times, Duolite® Shadings are the answer. Duolite® offers the benefit of the diffused light from sheer fabric, with an independently operated room-darkening roller placed discreetly behind the sheer shade.
Another advantage of sheer shadings is the protection they provide from UV rays. Exposure to UV rays from the sun can fade and discolor costly furnishing and other items in your home. Silhouette® window shades can block nearly 100% of incoming UV when the vanes are closed, and slightly less when the vanes are tilted open.

This exclusive collection of globally sourced fabrics is design-inspired and full of visually interesting patterns and textures. The Alustra® Collection is geared toward the most discerning of consumers and has a subtle metallic sheen in its fabrics, and hardware to mimic the finish of today’s most high-end fixtures. This small touch can really enhance the color palette of a neutral color scheme.

Easy to Keep

Your Silhouette® Window Shadings will require essentially no regular upkeep. A simple wipe with a feather duster or soft cloth to remove surface dust and debris is generally all that is needed. You will not need to worry about moisture damage or conditioning oils.

Sheer shades are also incredibly lightweight, making them a good choice for any size window. Your sheer shades will transform the look of any room by gently diffusing incoming light. Rather than a harsh glare at midday, you will enjoy a gentle glow of sunlight that will create an almost dreamy ambiance.

Pairing Your Sheer Shades

Sometimes a sheer shade isn’t enough, but a Roman shade or drapery panel is too much. The solution? Use them both.
